Aker Solutions is recruiting a Fabrication & Testing Supervisor, to be based in Lobito, Angola.

Duties

• Continuous follow up of work packages in fabrication
• Overall responsibility for planning, supervising, preparation and execution of fabrication activity according to schedule and contract requirements, including documentation and procedures are in conformity
• Supervises fabrication erection activities (fit up, welding, lifting, etc.)
• Review contract, specifications and designs to determine the nature of testing and equipment that will be required
• Co-ordinates and interface between fabrication/installation and pre-fabrication activities
• Ensures compliance with safety procedures and quality standards
• Attend the structure FAT activities
• Searches for the most efficient technical solutions that occur on the way, involve and inform relevant persons
• Periodically check the various processes in Fabrication to ensure they are running as efficiently as possible
• Provides quantitative data for producing the progress reports
• Facilitates improvement through team involvement, training on specific tasks, and the other company-related functions
• Ensure loadout activities are performed safely, and that all documentation required is provided to Subcontractor and stakeholders as necessarily
• Analyze and approve welding’s and post dimensional control report
• Assist the Project/Site Manager in the execution of engineering, fabrication and assembly tasks at the site
• Analyze tasks to confirm that all necessary documentation is available
• Liaise with Logistics for the storage, availability of materials and the others for continuously work progress

Requisites

• Degree in Engineering (BSc), preferably Mechanical, Offshore or similar Engineering
• Engineering, Testing and Fabrication experience
• Have strong working knowledge of construction contracts, contractor inspection procedures and construction work sequences
• Planning and prefab coordination experience
• Seven-ten year experience within construction and site test engineering
• Fluent in English
• Experience in developing fabrication and testing procedures, and writing test report is desirable
• Computer proficiency using MS Office and SAP experience, CAD, SolidWorks
• Good Communications skills
• Strong ability to plan and organize work in an efficient manner and to work well under stress and time pressures
