Position Summary
Instructs classroom and hands-on application of Oceaneering remotely operated vehicle technical theory and operation of electronic and electrical systems, hydraulic systems and sub-systems including component repair, replacement, and maintenance and troubleshooting.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instructs all aspects of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with Oceaneering remotely operated vehicles.
  • Instructs all aspects of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with Oceaneering remotely operated vehicles.
  • Mentors and assess students’ ability to troubleshoot ROV control and associated systems.
  • Instructs theory of troubleshooting on fiber-optic components and test equipment.
  • Instructs theory of troubleshooting on hydraulic systems.
  • Instructs proper operation and maintenance of analytical test equipment.
  • Instructs basic ROV piloting to include the use of sub-sea navigational equipment.
  • Establishes training calendar in alignment with demand planning from Segments.
  • Establishes and maintains parts and supplies associated with all classrooms and hands on applications associated with instruction and curriculum development.
  • Troubleshoot and repair training aids and equipment.
  • Assists in the development and maintains course curriculum.
  • Occasional travel to overseas training facilities to provide instruction.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilties.


  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
  • 4-year degree preferred or 5 years of electrical and electronics experience; hydraulics and or fluid power system experience.
  • Five (5) years industrial related experience.
  • Two (2) years as Oceaneering ROV Senior Technician or Supervisor.
  • Must speak Portuguese fluently and English.

Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
  • Work surface is stable (flat).
  • May require travel including overseas.
