Position Summary
Instructs classroom and hands-on application of Oceaneering remotely operated vehicle technical theory and operation of electronic and electrical systems, hydraulic systems and sub-systems including component repair, replacement, and maintenance and troubleshooting.
Functions
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential
- Instructs all aspects of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with Oceaneering remotely operated vehicles.
- Instructs all aspects of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with Oceaneering remotely operated vehicles.
- Mentors and assess students’ ability to troubleshoot ROV control and associated systems.
- Instructs theory of troubleshooting on fiber-optic components and test equipment.
- Instructs theory of troubleshooting on hydraulic systems.
- Instructs proper operation and maintenance of analytical test equipment.
- Instructs basic ROV piloting to include the use of sub-sea navigational equipment.
- Establishes training calendar in alignment with demand planning from Segments.
- Establishes and maintains parts and supplies associated with all classrooms and hands on applications associated with instruction and curriculum development.
- Troubleshoot and repair training aids and equipment.
- Assists in the development and maintains course curriculum.
- Occasional travel to overseas training facilities to provide instruction.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilties.
Required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
- 4-year degree preferred or 5 years of electrical and electronics experience; hydraulics and or fluid power system experience.
- Five (5) years industrial related experience.
- Two (2) years as Oceaneering ROV Senior Technician or Supervisor.
- Must speak Portuguese fluently and English.

Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
- Work surface is stable (flat).
- May require travel including overseas.
